The Queen's Platinum Jubilee 2022 event organizers; The Town Crier, Impact 32, A. Sheila Boyd Foundation, Bobcaygeon Legion, Bobcaygeon Lions Club, Kawartha Settlers Village and Maryboro Lodge have a series of events planned.
2:00 OFFICIAL TOWN CRIER PROCLAMATION – Along Bolton Street finishing at the Wheatsheaf Café patio. **A limited number of official commemorative pins will be available.
5:00 – 10:00 CELEBRATION EVENT - KAWARTHA SETTLERS’ VILLAGE
5:00 – 8:45 Music, Food, Games, Boat Races, Bouncy Castle, Animal Balloons, Temporary Commemorative Tattoos, Giveaways, Contests, Official Queen’s Jubilee Tart tasting.
5:00 – 8:30 Burgers, Hot Dogs and Drinks will be served by the Bobcaygeon Lions.
8:45 – JUBILEE CEREMONY – Including the Bobcaygeon Jubilee Choir performing “A Song for the Commonwealth” a piece specially written for the celebrations.
9:15 - BEACON LIGHTING - Please note the beacon will be lit promptly at 9:15 to coincide with Beacon Lightings taking place throughout the world. Although there are many Jubilee celebrations taking place across Canada, we are honoured to learn that Bobcaygeon is one of only three similar Beacon lightings taking place in Canada. Many thanks to British Empire Fuels for sponsoring the Beacon.
Prizes for the best Royal Costume and the Best Fascinator Hat – Come dressed to have fun.
The TOWN TROLLEY, will run from 5:00 – 10:00 from Bolton Street to Kawartha Settlers’ Village for those who do not wish to drive to the celebration. Pick up in front of the A. Sheila Boyd Museum/Canal Street.
In order to include our seniors at our local seniors’ residences, who may not be able to attend the event in person, the committee will be delivering goodies and commemorative tea for an Afternoon Tea to Case Manor, Pinecrest, Kawartha Lakes Retirement Residence in Bobcaygeon and Fenelon Court in Fenelon Falls.
