Backyard Music Co. has officially selected Kawartha Lakes as one of only thirteen towns across Canada to host a “Nashville Takeover” next summer, July 24th-26th after a nationwide FB campaign based on who had the best community spirit. This three day experience will bring more than fifteen top emerging songwriters from Nashville and across Canada to perform in intimate rooms, hidden venues, and unique spaces all around town. This is not a field or a street festival. There are no large stages or barriers, audiences sit within arm’s reach of artists as they share the stories behind their songs similar to the iconic “Bluebird Café” format. This concept was introduced for the first time in Collingwood and Port Stanley this year and saw overwhelming success with multiple sold out shows and powerful emotional moments.
We are very excited to work with Kawartha Lakes and various different amazing venues to bring this unique festival experience to the community. This will be huge for the local businesses and culture of the city. Tickets will be limited due to the closeness of the venues. If you want to gain access to early access passes, please send me a DM with the words KAWARTHA LAKES.
